Location: New York City

Time Commitment: Fractional, up to 10 hours/week

My client is a founder-led, NYC-based app that helps people discover unique stores, in-store events, and curated neighborhood itineraries.

The team is seeking an User Acquisition Consultant to design and execute lean, experimental user acquisition tests across mobile channels.

This is a hands-on, execution focused role for someone who has worked with early-stage consumer apps, is comfortable operating with limited data and small budgets, and enjoys testing quickly to uncover real signals

What You’ll Do

  • Launch and manage lean paid acquisition tests across mobile channels, including:

    • Instagram

    • TikTok

    • Reddit

    • App Store / Apple Search Ads

  • Own the full funnel from ad → install → account creation

  • Test messaging, creative, and targeting to improve conversion

  • Monitor performance and iterate quickly based on results

  • Identify early signals around what’s working and what’s not

  • Share clear insights and recommendations on:

    • Which channels are worth investing in

    • What messaging converts

    • What’s worth scaling vs. stopping

Who You Are

  • App acquisition specialist with experience at early-stage startups and consumer apps (marketplaces a plus)

  • Comfortable working with very small budgets

  • Strong experience in paid ads, UA testing, and performance channels

  • Data-literate and execution-focused

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and limited historical data

  • Experience in consumer, retail, events, or NYC-centric products is a plus

What Success Looks Like

  • Multiple acquisition tests launched across key channels

  • Clear signals on performance and conversion

  • A repeatable testing framework the team can continue to build on

  • Practical guidance on where to focus future spend and effort
