Community Partnerships Consultant (Part-Time)

Apply

Location: New York City (primarily Brooklyn & Manhattan)

Compensation: $60/hour

Time Commitment: Fractional, up to 10 hours/week

Engagement: 30-days test engagement (with potential to extend)

My client is a founder-led, NYC-based app that helps people discover unique stores, in-store events, and curated neighborhood itineraries.

The team is seeking a Community Partnerships Consultant to help build grassroots distribution by activating people who already make recommendations around New York City. The app is free, and the focus is on growing active usage by building authentic relationships with people who would genuinely find it useful.

Ideal candidates enjoy networking, meeting new people, and sharing tools that make people’s lives easier — and are excited to brainstorm how to grow distribution in a non-salesy, partnerships-driven way.

This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role focused on learning what works quickly. If the 30-day test goes well, the goal is to extend the contract.

What You’ll Do

  • Build relationships with community connectors who regularly recommend local experiences, including:

    • Hotel and residential building concierges

    • Real estate agents

    • Travel agents

    • Airbnb hosts

    • Colleges and campus organizations

  • Introduce the app as a tool for discovering and sharing curated local events, walks, and destinations

  • Attend local events and community gatherings to make introductions and grow awareness

  • Represent the product thoughtfully and professionally in the field

  • Support onboarding and answer questions about how to use the platform

  • Share feedback from partners and the community to help inform product improvements

Who You Are

  • Experienced in partnerships, community growth, hospitality, events, or grassroots marketing

  • Have a strong NYC network and comfort being out in the city

  • Confident with outbound outreach and relationship-building

  • Organized enough to track outreach and report learnings

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage experimentation

  • Poised, outgoing, and a strong communicator

What Success Looks Like

  • Clear insight into which partner types are most receptive to using the app

  • Understanding of how the app fits into partners’ existing needs

  • Building a draft partnership and onboarding playbook that can be repeated

  • A small number of active partners using and sharing the app with their audiences
